Role Overview
The Field Service Technician I is a key customer-facing role responsible for supporting electro-mechanical medical devices in clinical and hospital settings. This position involves installation, repair, preventative maintenance, training, and troubleshooting of medical equipment, while ensuring a positive experience for customers and patients.
Key Responsibilities

Perform repairs, calibrations, preventive maintenance, and installations on medical devices

Analyze equipment failures, identify root causes, and perform corrective actions

Manage assigned territory efficiently, scheduling service calls and planning travel

Ensure proper calibration and functioning of test equipment

Maintain accurate documentation of performance and maintenance records

Train customer personnel on operation and maintenance procedures

Provide excellent customer communication and service

Adhere to environmental, health, safety, and departmental policies
Required Qualifications
-
Ability to troubleshoot and solve equipment-related problems independently
-
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions)
-
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
-
Ability to work in healthcare environments and comply with PPE requirements

Physical ability to kneel, squat, bend, lift up to 50 lbs regularly, and travel as required

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel, including overnight stays
Experience and Education
-
Associate’s degree or higher in engineering, biomedical equipment technology, or computer science
-
OR 3+ years of electro-mechanical troubleshooting experience with relevant certification
-
OR completion of U.S. military electrical/biomedical equipment technology program
-
Previous field service experience preferred
